Driving Change: RMA Automotive Celebrates Women in the Automotive Industry

RMA SA Women

Pretoria – August, 2025

The RMA Automotive SA women celebrated Women’s Day on Friday, 8 August at Safari Restaurant in Pretoria. The occasion marked the company’s fourth annual Women’s Day celebration, a powerful reminder of the strength, tenacity and brilliance of women who are making their mark in fields where they were previously not recognised. This year, the spotlight shone brightly on the automotive sector and the phenomenal women who are reshaping it.

For a long time, engineering rooms, production lines and workshop floors were seen as the exclusive domain of men. But that narrative is changing, thanks to a new generation of women who have entered the industry with confidence, talent and a solid work ethic. From the quality department ensuring excellence to the production line guaranteeing precision, these women aren’t just a part of the process, they are vital to the industry’s success.

The Value of a Diverse Team

The automotive industry needs women. It needs their care, their courage, their inventiveness and their attention to detail. Research has shown that diverse teams, especially those with a strong representation of women, solve problems more quickly, make better decisions and produce higher quality results.
Despite long hours, heavy labour and high standards, these women rise to the occasion daily. They prove their worth through their actions where every vehicle, part, invoice and piece of paperwork that leaves the plant, bears their signature.

The Road Ahead

“While significant progress has been made, there is still work to be done. We must continue to advocate for inclusion, opportunities for growth and proper recognition. It is our collective responsibility to uplift one another and pave the way for the next generation of women to lead in factories, boardrooms and design labs,” comments Masego Everson, RMA SA’s HR Manager.

Today, we celebrate not just being women, but being trailblazers, innovators and change-makers. To all the women working tirelessly in the production, administration and quality departments at RMAA SA, you are seen. You are valued. You are powerful.

The automotive industry is finally beginning to see it too. Let’s continue to drive change: one part, one vehicle and one victory at a time.
